Spicy Black Bean Burgers

These Spicy Black Bean Burgers are a tasty and filling vegan meal choice because they are full of flavor and protein. Theyre simple to make and great for a quick dinner during the week or a barbecue on the weekend.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions:

In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork or potato masher

Add breadcrumbs, red onion, garlic, cilantro, cumin, chili powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper

Mix until well combined

Form the mixture into burger patties

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat

Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and heated through

Serve the burgers on buns with your favorite toppings
